Precision-CARRS

Improving how we predict cardiovascular disease by going beyond traditional risk factors and developing more personalized and precise approaches for earlier detection and prevention.

South Asians are an understudied population with a high burden of cardiovascular disease, often occurring at younger ages and lower body weights.

Their elevated risk of diabetes, dyslipidemia, and hepatic steatosis at younger ages offers a unique opportunity to better understand variation in cardiovascular risk beyond traditional ASCVD risk factors.

Purpose of Precision-CARRS

Prevalence & Predictors

Estimate prevalence, incidence, and predictors of subclinical and clinical cardiovascular disease and to explore underlying pathophysiologic pathways.

Environmental Exposures

Assess contribution of environmental exposures, including air pollution and the built environment.

Multi-omic Determinants

Examine multi-omic determinants of disease.

Spousal & Behavioral

Evaluate spousal and behavioral influences.
